About the Fellowship

The COSEF Fellowship offers business professionals the opportunity to apply their skills to enable our portfolio companies generate top tier returns and create outsized impact. Through this initiative, we leverage skills and market knowledge of business professionals to provide tailored technical assistance to maximize organization and leadership potential. Fellows work with COSEF team and expert business advisors from our proprietary network of partners to address key skills, knowledge and information gaps in our portfolio companies. Through this engagement, Fellows gain valuable hands-on experience and learn lessons in the field. Thus the Fellowship enables participants to enhance skills that are vital for the next stage of a meaningful career thereafter.

 

Candidate requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant field preferred)
  • Minimum of two years of full-time work experience after university
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken

Required skills and qualities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong research and analytical skills
  • Self-starter, willing to work independently with limited supervision and take responsibility for own actions
  • Strong commitment to make a difference and preparedness to make financial and personal sacrifices
  • Good understanding of challenges and trends in Africa
  • Willingness to live and work abroad and engage with other cultures with a positive attitude and sensitivity
  • Flexibility, open-mindedness and the ability to deal with ambiguity, unforeseeable events and a changing environment
